The most recent state of nature report was a depressing read. Using Red List criteria, which identify species of the highest conservation concern, 8,000 species were assessed. Of these, 15% are extinct or threatened with extinction from Great Britain. Nature is faring worse in the UK than most other countries.

One of the biggest contributors to this decline, is the loss of habitat as a result of Agricultural practices. 75% of the UK is managed for food production. As food production is a necessity, managing our remaining green space for wildlife is essential to stop the current rapid population decline, of the majority of UK species
